Noise App a new way to tackle nuisance noise

Plus Dane tenants and customers concerned by nuisance noise are being invited to try the Noise App, which allows people to use their smartphones to record problem noise as it happens and send it straight to their case officer.

The Noise App has been trialled by the Tenancy Enforcement Team and has already sped up investigations into noise complaints. 

It allows us to take appropriate enforcement action much more quickly, and also helps determine when noise is actually the result of day-to-day living rather than anti-social behaviour. It uses GPS to help pinpoint exactly where the noise is coming from.

It takes time and a lot of our resources to investigate noise nuisance complaints. A big benefit for those using the Noise App is that it takes away the need for tenants to keep the required two-week diary of problem noise, which is often followed up by the installation of bulky sound equipment in their home to monitor further levels of noise allowing Plus Dane to investigate thoroughly. 

All tenants contacting the anti-social behaviour team with noise nuisance complaints are now offered the chance to try the Noise App. It is available to download for free from the App Store (for iPhones) and Google Play Store (for Android phones).
