Training course for new carers in Ellesmere Port guarantees interview
Newcomers interested in a career in the care industry are being offered a free training course and guaranteed interview as part of a recruitment drive.
Plus Dane Housing is working in partnership with reputable care providers, Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Work Zone and Mid Cheshire College on the new scheme.
Following the success of the 2015 Ellesmere Port Live Local Work Local jobs and enterprise fairs, the partnership identified a high demand to fill posts specifically in care-related roles, and together have tailored this new opportunity to promote care work as a rewarding career option.
Toria Buzza, regeneration manager at Plus Dane, said: “If you are enthusiastic, have a positive attitude, like working with people and making a difference then a career in care could be just what you’re looking for.”
The new initiative is part of the housing association’s commitment to support local residents into work.
One recent success story is Plus Dane tenant Gemma Pear, who found a job as a care assistant after a year out of work, as a result of attending one of the Live Local Work Local events last year.
She says: “Caring for someone can really be worthwhile. Working in care can be very rewarding as you can get a lot out of it on a personal level, knowing you are making someone’s life easier and that you have helped someone else.”
The course incorporates seven days of training, starting from February 22, with a guaranteed interview with a reputable company on March 4.
Places on the training course are limited. To book one, please contact Chris Davis on 0151 373 2512 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
