Plus Dane has appointed United Living Group to develop 88 much-needed affordable homes, through a mix of rent and shared ownership homes, in the Liverpool City Region.
United Living New Homes (ULNH) is a subsidiary of United Living Group, who provide infrastructure, affordable housing, property services and telecoms across the UK, has been appointed to deliver the new development in Knowsley.
The Carr Lane development in Prescot will see the re-development of a brownfield site, enabling a key sustainable urban extension and contributing towards Knowsley Council's Local Plan target of delivering more than 8,000 homes by 2028.
The site was formerly a United Utilities treatment works, but now primarily consists of scrub and vegetation. The new development will see a mix of housing types being built, including 4 one-bedroom apartments, 14 two-bed homes, 67 three-bed homes and 3 four-bed homes.
Construction is due to start in late 2025, with homes being available from 2027.
The Carr Lane project is the second development ULNH will undertake for Plus Dane. In 2024, Plus Dane awarded a £22 million project to build 104 new affordable homes on the site of the former Johnsons Cleaners corporate headquarters in Bootle.
Siobhan Moore, Director of Growth at Plus Dane Housing, commented: “We are really pleased to be moving forward at the Carr Lane site. Over the past decade Prescot has experienced a regeneration boom on the back of Shakespeare North Playhouse and public and private investment in the town centre. It is a really vibrant place to be and we are delighted that we can now move forward with our affordable homes to keep that momentum going and contribute towards Knowsley Councils home building target.”
Peter George, Land Director, United Living New Homes, said: "We are delighted to be strengthening our collaborative relationship with Plus Dane Housing. With a track record for high-quality residential schemes across the UK, we look forward to delivering affordable new homes that will provide a welcome housing boost to the local community."
