We were delighted to help customers and communities across Merseyside and Cheshire enjoy last weekend's Coronation celebrations with a range of special events.
We secured £6000 of funding from the National Lottery Awards for All to help residents in our schemes and the wider community watch the historic event together or throw a party.
Our engagement and partnerships team split the funding so organisers at each location could decide how best to mark the occasion and purchase their own food and entertainment.
As well as holding parties for residents in our sheltered schemes, we worked with community groups and partners to contribute towards street parties and live screenings of the coronation in the wider neighbourhoods.
Hundreds of Plus Dane customers took part in events over the bank holiday weekend, with some scheme residents opting for a celebratory hamper to be delivered instead of an event.
Kate Jungnitz, our director of customer services, said: “The Coronation has been a great opportunity for our communities to come together, and we are grateful to have secured funding from the National Lottery Awards for All to make sure our customers and communities were able to get involved and celebrate the special bank holiday weekend.”
