Under new fire safety regulations, landlords in England now need to carry out regular checks on fire doors for all buildings of 11 metres or higher – this includes some of our communal buildings.
Fire doors are crucial in preventing smoke and toxic gases spreading throughout a building, as well as helping people to get out, and fire fighters to get to the source of a blaze.
In the relevant buildings, those at the entrance to individual flats now need to be checked once a year, while fire doors in communal areas need checking every three months.
If your home is affected by these new rules, when your check is due we will get in touch to arrange a time you will be home to let us in so we can inspect both sides of your front door.
