A very happy retirement to our legendary income officer Margie Lowton, who has retired this week after 47 years with us.
Margie joined CDS (or Cooperative Development Services) in Liverpool in 1978. Over time, CDS became Plus Housing, which eventually became Plus Dane, merging operations across Merseyside and Cheshire.
In her time at Plus Dane she has worked in different areas across the business, including administration, neighbourhoods, and community safety. She ends her working life with us in the income team, looking after service charges and former tenant arrears as well as working alongside our shared ownership arm, HomesHub.
“It’s the teams and the people you work with that make an organisation,” she says. “That’s what kept me here over the years, how much I have enjoyed working with the people.”
Our chief executive Ian Reed said: “Congratulations and farewell to Margie, our longest serving colleague. With more than 47 years of service, almost the entire existence of Plus Dane, she has seen huge change over her time here and made an incredible contribution. Thank you, Margie, for your dedication and service. I wish you a long, happy and well‑earned retirement - you will be greatly missed.”
