Plus Dane and developers Macbryde Homes worked in partnership to build Oakley Park, a mix of high quality two and three bedroom homes designed with modern couples and families in mind.
The 12-acre development, on the outskirts of Ellesmere Port town centre, includes 67 Plus Dane properties offering housing solutions including affordable rent, Rent to Buy, and shared ownership. Some of the homes are also available through the government-backed Help to Buy incentive, which allows eligible buyers to purchase a new home with just a 5% deposit.
All other properties in the development are available for outright sale through MacBryde.
Scheduled for completion this March, work was finished ahead of time in December last year, and residents are already moving into their brand new homes.
Madeleine Nelson, Plus Dane’s executive director (growth) said: “We are proud to be able to offer such a high quality range of much needed new and affordable homes. Through every stage of the development Macbryde has been an excellent delivery partner, communicating clearly with us and sharing our passion for investing in communities and building high specification homes for everyone.”
“Oakley Park is the result of nearly ten years of collaboration between Plus Dane and Macbryde. Originally intended as a much smaller scheme, it became part of a longer term strategy to bring much needed homes and investment to the Ellesmere Port area.”
Gwyn Jones, managing director of Macbryde Homes, said: We are really pleased to have delivered this high-quality scheme of homes for Plus Dane ahead of schedule. Plus Dane have been an excellent partner to work with and this has been a really successful partnerships scheme for us both.
“The scheme has blended in seamlessly with our open market sale homes and creates a true mixed tenure community which has had a transformational impact on this area of Ellesmere Port. The country urgently needs more quality new housing delivered through a blend of tenures and we are keen to partner with Plus Dane and others to repeat this model many times over.”
The £8.6m Oakley Park scheme was supported by a £1,578,000 government grant from Homes England.
Sarah Hebron-Doran, Specialist in the Home Ownership and Supply team at Homes England, added: “It is wonderful to be working with Plus Dane and Macbryde Homes in funding a high quality development, designed to meet the needs of local people.
“This partnership is an excellent example of Homes England working with partners to deliver more homes faster, helping communities and providing affordable housing using funding from the Shared Ownership and Affordable Homes Programme. We look forward to continuing our work in the North West to deliver more affordable homes in the future.”
