We are pleased to be going ahead with plans for more than 100 new homes in Bootle.
Plus Dane recently acquired the site of the former headquarters of Johnson’s the Cleaners on Stanley Road, to build a mix of family homes and apartments in a £22m scheme.
Work will begin in the coming weeks on the first phase of 67 homes; there will be 104 in total.
The five-acre site has a long history – the Johnson’s HQ was formerly one of the largest dyeing and dry-cleaning operations in the world. It was built close to Liverpool docks to clean the huge drapes from the first-class lounges of the city’s transatlantic liners.
Siobhan Moore, our director of growth, said: “We are pleased that we are now able to move ahead in developing the Stanley Road site, with the support of grant funding from Homes England and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.
“It will provide 104 much needed affordable homes for the area; 84 of these will be for social rent and 20 will be shared ownership.
“We have worked on the deal with Partner Construction, the social housing construction division of United Living who will be building out the homes for us, and the first phase is expected to start on site in the next few weeks."
