We have partnered with an organisation called We Are Group to help us deliver digital skills training to Plus Dane customers and colleagues. This is part of our digital strategy, focused on breaking down barriers to accessing digital services.
This will includes in-person group and one-to-one sessions covering the basics of digital skills, including managing emails, accessing online services like banking and shopping, using Plus Dane’s digital services like our customer portal, social media, and staying safe online.
It will even bring some of Plus Dane’s old computer equipment back into use, to be refurbished and provided to customers. We will have more details about this soon.
Our head of social impact Emma Sneyd said: “As a social landlord, we are committed to tackling social inequality by enabling individuals and communities to thrive. Our ‘digital by design’ approach aims to make sure both customers and colleagues have the right skills, knowledge, and support to connect.”
We Are Group is a UK social impact company that manages large-scale programmes for Government, Corporates, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, and more, with a focus on achieving Social Return on Investment (SROI).
Their managing director Jonathan Prew said: “Partnering with Plus Dane Housing aligns perfectly with our mission to make digital services accessible to everyone, and we’re glad that Plus Dane shares the same ambition and has selected us to deliver digital training to their residents following a tender process.”
By providing both the skills and the devices needed, we are empowering individuals to confidently navigate the digital landscape, and creating vibrant communities where residents are digitally included.”
