The 43-home Northwood development, off Shacklady Road in Kirkby, is a mixture of detached and semi-detached houses, bungalows and flats, to suit a wide variety of housing needs.
The scheme has been developed in agreement with Knowsley Council and has been assisted by £1.38 million of funding from Homes England. The architect is Brock Carmichael, who have worked on previous Plus Dane schemes.
Plus Dane development director Chris McAllister said: “It’s brilliant that we have had a part to play in making sure 13 families will be seeing in Christmas and new year in these brand new homes. This is just the beginning for the Northwood area, as we look forward to completing these new builds in 2020 to welcome even more new residents.”
Moving the first new tenants into Northwood rounds off a successful year for Plus Dane’s development team, whose work on the Welsh Streets in Toxteth recently won ‘best regeneration’ in the Inside Housing Development Awards, one of the most respected events in the housing sector.
Among the new residents is Djariusz Aftyka and his family. He said: “We are so excited to move in. The location is perfect and we really love the house. It’s just the perfect Christmas present for us, and we can’t wait to start a new decade and a new life here.”
Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, added “I’m delighted to see the first phase of this development complete, attracting more residents into the borough through good quality homes and offering a choice of different options to suit all budgets.”
All homes in Northwood will be made available for affordable rent through the Property Pool Plus website.
