Since it went into regulation following a G3 V2 grading in 2013, the organisation has undertaken a root and branch review of its operations and embarked on a significant improvement programme.
During this intense period of analysis and improvement Plus Dane faced further regulatory challenges when at G3 it also went onto the watch list for viability.
Commenting on the recent regulatory judgement Chair Sir Peter Fahy said:
“We are really pleased that the Regulator has recognised the amount of work that has been done to improve both the governance and financial viability of the organisation over the last four years.
“The Board has been very clear in setting the strategic direction for the organisation, and wholly supportive of the chief executive and her team in making some tough decisions to ensure we retain our strong social purpose and focus on the needs of our tenants and future customers.”
Barbara Spicer CBE, chief executive said:
“I am really proud of the Plus Dane team, all of whom have played a part in improving the organisation and have worked exceptionally hard during some really tough times.
“We have worked closely with the regulator both whilst we were in regulation and through a fairly long period of reactive engagement from the point we regained our compliant status in 2015. This open and honest relationship has been key to moving the business forward.
“The sector and our tenants still face huge challenges so our transformation will continue to ensure we deliver services in the most efficient way possible and that our tenants and staff have a strong voice in both in the development and delivery of services.”
