As the cost of living crisis continues to bite Plus Dane has created an interactive online map for anyone looking for a warm place to go and get a hot drink this winter.
As the number of warm hubs (
#WarmHub #WarmBank) has started to grow in recent weeks, Plus Dane has created a map to help residents locate their nearest hub. Anyone can access the interactive map via the Plus Dane website
HERE.The North West based Housing Association, which operates across Merseyside and Cheshire has worked in partnership with residents at three of its community buildings in Liverpool to turn them into warm hubs to support local customers, and will be looking to open further centres if demand increases.
Ian Reed, Chief Executive Officer for Plus Dane said,
“We created the warm hub map initially to help our customers to find their nearest hub. It is a helpful tool, so we have now made the map accessible to everyone via our website. We are all sadly familiar with the need for food banks in the UK, but now due to soaring energy prices we are seeing a demand for warm hubs too.
We have worked in partnership with our residents groups to create warm hubs which form part of the network of hubs which have popped up all over the region and our map allows you to find your nearest one. The hubs provide a place to get warm and many, like our hubs, also provide a hot drink, a hot snack and will be a place to have a chat too.”
