Faulty gas appliances can be dangerous so it’s vital that you allow our colleagues access into your home to carry out essential regular gas safety checks.
Each year, we are required by law to carry out a gas service of all appliances that have been provided by Plus Dane. This is to make sure that the appliances you are using are safe and comply with regulations.
We will always book an appointment with you to carry out these essential safety checks, either by letter or phone. We will always try to arrange appointments at convenient times for you.
It is a legal requirement, and part of your tenancy agreement, that these checks are completed. If you do not allow our colleagues access to your home, if necessary, we may need to take legal action to request the courts grant us access to your home. The cost of this will be passed to you, and can vary depending on how far the legal action progresses.
We don’t want things to get to that stage, and we will only take this action if all other options have failed.
We will check your gas appliances are:

Chimneys will need to be checked every year for blockages (such as birds’ nests and debris) which can prevent dangerous fumes from escaping.
Our Gas Safe registered engineer will be on the lookout for these.
Gas leaks can occur from faulty appliances and pipework. While some gases are not poisonous, leaks can lead to fires or explosions.
