Our grounds maintenance team work all year round to keep our communal green spaces tidy.
Customers pay for this service through a service charge.
We will make 16 visits across the year and during them visits we:
• will cut grass on the 12 visits between March and October
• will collect leaves during autumn and winter visits
• will collect litter during all visits
• complete two hedge trims, one in early spring and one during autumn/winter
• will weed and turnover the beds on two visits
• complete two weed sprays, one in spring and one in late summer
• will complete one inspection of trees on our communal land
• will dedicate one visit to reduce woodland and over-growth
If during one of our visits it is raining and we are unable to cut grass, we will return the next dry day to complete the grass cutting.
Our teams will cut the grass and leave the fine clippings on the lawn rather than collecting them, we will ensure walkways are cleared of clippings.
We deliver the service in this way because:
• It’s more efficient - our teams can cover areas more regularly and meet the number of visits set out in the grass cutting specification. We know from your feedback that this standard has not been met consistently and has been a source of dissatisfaction.
• It’s better for the grass – fine clippings break down naturally, returning nutrients to the soil and helping grass stay healthier and greener.
We will not cut back trees or cut then down unless they are dead, diseased or dangerous.
We also will not cut hedges back between the end of March and the end of August as this is the nesting season for birds.
We are responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of any communal areas. Our new In-house cleaning team will cover the following works:
