The formula for rent setting, set by government, is Consumer Price Index +1%. The CPI as at September is used to calculate social housing rents.
In September 2023, the CPI was 6.7% which means the 2024/25 rent increase has been set at 7.7%.
Plus Dane has taken a decision to increase rents in line with Government guidelines in response to a greater demand for our services and the increasing costs associated with delivering those services.
We have invested more in our homes over the last 12 months and our plan is for that to continue over the coming years as we strive to make homes warmer and more energy efficient for our customers.
