We are pleased to announce that we are now working in partnership with Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) service for Children and Young People.
The service includes assessment, treatment, and continuous support for children and young people facing challenges with speech, language, communication, and eating or swallowing.
The East Locality SALT service, previously based at the Congleton War Memorial Hospital, is now based at the Wellbeing Hub in our offices on Worrall Street. The move will make it easier for residents of Congleton who require the service to access support.
Our strategic partnerships manager Usman Ashiq, said: "We are delighted to be working with the SALT service by linking them to the Congleton Wellbeing Hub, which focuses on enhancing wellbeing outcomes for the Congleton community.
“This initiative exemplifies how we can integrate services within the community to effectively meet local population needs. This partnership holds great potential, as it enables us to engage with parents and carers. By them visiting the hub, we can also connect them to a wider range of support services as part of our collective wellbeing support offer."
Mat Southall, community operational manager - Paediatrics at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust SALT, said: "As a speech and language therapy service, we are always looking for opportunities to make our service more accessible for children, young people and their families.
“This fantastic link with the Congleton Wellbeing Hub means that we can encourage families using the service to increase awareness of other services that may be available to them locally, whilst attending their appointments in a friendly, welcoming environment. Working alongside community partners like Plus Dane Housing means that we are also aligning to neighbourhood models of care, and providing a service that can support early identification and intervention in the local community."
